The investments reached the value of €240 million and lead to the reduction of emissions in the atmosphere, the increase of production capacity, as well as the improvement of the end-product.
The project consisted, among others, in the modernization of the Urea installation, modernization of the installations Ammonia III and IV and implementing a new wastewater treatment system. The new installations and the modernized ones will be put in effect in December 2015.
In only 3 years, since 2013 until 2015, Azomures’ shareholding, Ameropa, made an investment 6 times higher than the investments made during a period of 14 years by the former shareholding of the company. Following the Swiss Ameropa policy at international level, Azomures integrates in its business strategy the social and economic objectives, aiming at the sustainable development.
The plant has benefitted from the support and the trust of also the State’s authorities and the local community, which is one of its main partners. Thus, the modernization program took place according to the plan, bringing long term benefits regarding the local and national economy and the environment.
