The investment is planned at EUR 3.5 million and the company also scheduled additional investments next year, of EUR 5 million, in its factory in Buzău, to be expanded and modernized.
The new GreenWEEE factory will be opened in Cluj in June and will hire 80 people in the following three years. The factory will benefit from the most advanced technologies in recycling electric and electronic equipments, with a processing capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year.
Waste to be treated here includes refrigerators, washing machines, IT&C equipments and other electric and electronic equipments.
„The electronic market is in continuous development and the current investments were a necessary step in order to increase recycling capacities proportionally with the quantities put on market and for the acquisition of new processing lines. Following investments, GreenWEEE has now the capacity of recycling the entire DEEE quantity Romania is obliged to have as collecting target, through OUG 5/2015, following the implementation of the Directive 2012/19/UE”, has declared Marius Costache, executive director GreenWEEE.
The company plans to equip in 2018 its unit in Buzău with the first technologic line for LCD equipments recycling in Romania.
GreenWEEE is also the only batteries recycler in South-Eastern Europe.
The waste comes from the local market, from authorized economic operators, individuals and electronic manufacturers or retailers. In order to support the current collecting system, the company invested in its own infrastructure for waste recovery, SIGUREC. (source: constructiv.ro)
