The company intends to hire nearly 100 people by 2019.
The investment of HARTING included the renovation and expansion of the production facilities in Sibiu, increasing the total area up to 12,000 square metres, from its previous size of 5,000 square metres, according to a press release of the German manufacturer.
"The production expansion in Sibiu and the development of the new building represent a proof of the exceptional growth levels", said the head of the German group, Philip Harting, present at the launching event of the construction, together with other members of the family and the mayor Astrid Cora Fodor.
HARTING Romania is the largest factory of the group, outside of Germany. The company has annual business exceeding EUR 35 million and nearly 600 employees, According to the press release, their number will increase with nearly 100 persons by 2019.
HARTING Romania started its activity in 2003, in the sector of auto parts assemblage and industrial connectors manufacture. In 2007 the company has inaugurated a new production unit within Sibiu Industrial Park West. Since 2009, the German group is also present in Romania via trade offices serving customers throughout the country.
Last autumn, the group separated its automotive activities, which were relocated to a new production unit, HARTING RO Automotive, situated in Agnita, Sibiu county.
