Moncler has employed 600 persons for the new production unit, adding to the existing 300 employees of the former garment factory Dialma SRL from the village Sărata, took over by the Italians in the second half of last year.

"The construction of the production unit in Bacău is part of a larger industrial project of Moncler, having as purpose the know-how consolidation of feather jackets fields and the direct production growth", writes Reuters Italy, citing a release of the group.

According to the release, the EUR 5 million investments in the new production unit adds to the amount of EUR 1.5 million invested last year in Romania and covers a series of expenses in the following months, related to the acquisition of technological equipments.

Moncler’s shares, a company well-known for the luxury jackets brand, have increased on Tuesday with 1.2 pct. on Milano Stock, up to EUR 14.72/unit, following the positive comments from the financial analysts after the announcement regarding the completion of the production unit in Romania.

In the end of August 2015, Moncler bought, through its Romanian subsidiary, Industries Yield SRL, the garment factory Dialma, situated in Sărata village. The Italian company didn’t disclose the value of the acquisition. The factory in Sărata was producing garments for Moncler for many years, in lohn regime.

"We purchased this unit, which has previously manufactured almost entirely for Moncler. It is an investment of a strategic importance, as it represents the first phase in a project aiming the integration of a part of the group’s production and the creation of a strong industrial platform", has declared last November Luciano Santel, Corporate Executive Director of the group.

Moncler, owned by the Italian billionaire Remo Ruffini, has operations in nearly 70 countries and a network of more than 170 stores, with more than 130 owned directly. In 2015, the group reported sales of EUR 880.4 million, with 27 pct. growth compared to the previous year and an operational profit of EUR 300 million, also nearly 29 pct. higher than the precedent year. For this year, the analysts estimate sales of EUR 992 million and a profit of EUR 335 million. (source: profit.ro)
