The investment is estimated to EUR 200 million and will be followed by the production of washing machines, dishwashers and microwave ovens.

The village of Ulmi, where the Turkish company decided to develop the new production unit has a population of nearly 4,000 inhabitants.

The local authorities have declared that they estimated the construction would be completed in its first phase in a period of eight to ten months since the receiving of the construction permit. 

The representatives of the City Hall in Ulmi say that the Turkish investor bought the plot of land from an inhabitant of the village.
”The factory will be situated within the area of Ulmi commune. We are constantly cooperating. They bought 70 hectares of land, the factory will cover the entire area. We have workforce in the factory zone and in the near-by communes. It is the only large investor in our commune and we learned that there would be another two-three factories to come and produce washing machines parts in the area”, said Petruţ-Bogdan Tiţa, the mayor of Ulmi.

The Arcelik group controls the appliances factory Arctic Găeşti and it is one of the important exporters in Romania, with refrigerators being sent to nearly 60 countries. 
The company had a turnover of over EUR 400 million and a net profit of EUR 31 million in 2015. (Source: mediafax.ro)
