Calafat, a city of 18,000 people close to Craiova, is facing a severe lack of jobs as only about 2,000 people are employed.

The company that will open the factory has been recently set up and will have partners from the car industry in Germany. The firm acquired five halls of a former factory of excavator buckets for about EUR 300,000.

The new plant will initially hire 100 workers and will produce interior parts for cars, plastic objects, board components, interior door faces, said Mihail Tenescu, the company’s representative. He added that a part of the equipment necessary to run the plant has been acquired and will be brought to Calafat. (source: Romania-insider.com)
