The main sales engine on the cars segment is represented by companies, with 70 percent of total sales. Another factor is represented by the influx of used cars – a large share of which don’t have proper tax papers.
According to APIA, in August there were 8,799 cars manufactured, with 70.6 percent less than in July, but by 85.9 percent more than in August 2015.
Out of the total production, 211,130 units were produced by Dacia and 28,875 by Ford. The biggest volumes were registered by Dacia Duster, with 120,980 units, an increase of 14.8 percent compared with the first 8 months of 2015, followed by Dacia Sandero, 37,116 units, Ford B-MAX with 28,875 units and Dacia Logan with 26,795 units.
At the same time, the market registers 70,606 sold cars, a growth of 14.8 percent compared with the last year and 16,841 commercial vehicles (for transport of merchandise or people), a growth of 21.9 percent.
During January-August, Dacia sold 20,968 units, holding a 29.7 percent market share, followed by Vokswagen, with 7,384 units, with a market share of 10.5 percent, Skoda with 6,611 units and a market share of 9.4 percent and Renault with 5,243 units and a 7.4 percent market share.
Moreover, the data shows that most of the sold cars come from Romania, with 27.6 percent, followed by Germany with 21.9 percent, Czech Republic with 11.5 percent, Spain with 8.9 percent and France with 7.2 percent. (source: business-review.eu)
