The port operator Chimpex, controlled by the businessman, will start this fall the construction of an export terminal of 200,000 t in Constanta harbor which will replace the horizontal warehouses currently used by the company.

The project value will reach EUR 40 million, being the most important investment of the Swiss after the takeover of the fertilizers producer Azomureş two years ago..

„We are building a modern terminal which will allow us to receive and load on ships 800 t merchandise per hour, which means we could be more competitive for our clients“, has declared Mihai Panait, CEO of Chimpex.

The new terminal will allow the company to load with cereals a big ship such as Panamax type of 60,000 t in less than two days. (source: zf.ro)
