"Opening this plant is extremely important for both Thyssenkrupp and our employees. The construction of a new plant in Sibiu helps both the development of the Thyssenkrupp congenial automotive business and the development of the local economy", says the factory manager.
The new factory will produce dampers for car companies, including Daimler, Jaguar Land Rover and Porsche.
Thyssenkrupp produced dampers in Sibiu since 1996 under the Bilstein brand. The new production unit is an extension of the existing factory and created more than 350 jobs, the company now having a total of about 1,000 employees in Sibiu.
The production of dampers is part of the group's component division, which produces high technology components for automotive and machine sectors with over 34,000 employees worldwide. The group focuses on industrial engineering and steel production. Thyssenkrupp manufactures and markets chassis components in eight locations in Europe, the US and China.
For all these things, Thyssenkrupp Bilstein has invested more than 60 million euros in Sibiu in the last three years, developing the most modern technologies. (source: oradesibiu.ro)
