Industrial output decreased in December, and the number of employees indicator shows that companies have carried out redundancies amidst temporary contract employees, shows the Industrial Barometer in Romania conducted by IRSOP Market Research and The National School of Political Science and Public Administration (SNSPA), sent to ACTMedia.
Romania has 63 companies listed in Central and Eastern Europe Top 500 according to their turnover, while the country ranks fourth in the region, according to international credit insurance company Coface.
Romania ranks sixth in the EU in terms of bicycle production, as the country has produced 820,000 bicycles in 2014, according to a report of the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry CONEBI.

Romania recorded the second highest increase in industrial production in the European Union (EU) in June 2014 compared with June 2013, of 9.9 percent, according to recent data from Eurostat. Only Hungary posted a higher increase in industrial production – 11.3 percent.
Industrial production rose by 9.1% in H1 2014 compared to H1 2013, while the growth adjusted to the number of business days and seasonality was 10.4%, according to the data released Monday by the National Statistics Institute /INS/.
Current industrial hubs stock in and near Bucharest is estimated at approx. 1 million sq. m, while the level of the entire country reached 1.8 million sq. m, according to the study made by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).
