Last year, former prime minister Victor Ponta announced as certain the appointment of a constructor for Craiova-Pitești highway, but the National Road Authority has announced recently that there were no financing for this project in the next years and that the authorities are currently only considering the ring roads for Slatina and Balș, still looking for financing solutions.

An official document shows the stage of the two belt roads, which could easy the traffic on national Road DN65 and could support the factories in Oltenia region. 

The National Road Authority has signed in 2006 the contract for the feasibility study for Saltina north ring road. The permit for the construction was issued, also including a new bridge over Olt river, but the urban permit has expired and a new feasibility study was conducted in 2009. (source: profit.ro)
