The authorities state that there are funds with which to continue the works on the airport, namely to re-update the feasibility study, to conduct expropriations and to transfer the plots of land from the state’s public domain to the County Council.

Referring to this issue, the Deputy Chairman of the County Council stated: “We are talking about a surface area of 59.3 hectares, which is in the private domain. In order for the situation to return to normal we have approved the transfer of this surface area back to the public domain and together with the Prefecture we will see how we can correlate it, most likely through a Government Decision.”

Only the runway, measuring 2,850 metres in length and 45 metres in width, is currently completed at the future Brasov-Ghimbav international airport. The runway was inaugurated in the autumn of 2014. (sursa: nineoclock.ro)
