“The first part of this project, of 55 MW, is already under tests, and the remaining 27 MW are under construction. Until the end of this year the farm will be operational,” the administrator of Green Vision Seven, Jurgen Andreas Faff told Mediafax yesterday.

The construction of the farm, located in Ucea de Sus, Brasov County started in April and took four months. The power transformer is manufactured by EnergoBit company of Cluj, Faff added.According to available data, the largest operational sun farm in Romania belongs to Korean group Samsung and has an installed capacity of 45 MW.

The total investment in the 82 MW exceeds EUR 100 M, of which EUR 83 M were borrowed by Hareon from China Development Bank, via two loans of EUR 50 M and EUR 33 M. According to Faff, the 82 MW represent the first part of a solar energy generation project with the total power of 168 MW, which implies a total investment in excess of EUR 200 M.
