MacromexEdenia Distribution Center has a surface of approximately 7,000 square meters and a height of 16 floors. Inside the temperature drops to -25 degrees Celsius. All kinds of frozen products, from meat and processed meat products to vegetables, fruits and ice cream, will be distributed from Campia Turzii to large European cities. The employees of the largest refrigerating storage building in Europe work in a temperature of -25 degrees Celsius. They have to wear special equipment to protect themselves from the cold.
The storage building, equipped with the latest technology, has a surface of 7,000 square meters. Frozen products will be distributed from here to the large commercial centers in North-West Europe. “It is the highest storage building with controlled temperature in Europe. It has a height of 42 meters, built on 16 floors,” storage manager Catalin Jarnea stated.
Campia Turzii was not chosen by chance by the investors. Fast transport, in just 24 hours, is possible from there to 10 European countries as well as to Romanian cities.
“We are present in Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey and so on. We are talking about ice cream, vegetables,” Dan Minulescu, the general director of the distributing company, stated.
The investment totaled EUR 17 M and around 100 people will be employed there.
