The appliance manufacturer, which now has 700 employees, entered the local market in March 2013. In 2012, De’Longhi acquired the factory in Jucu, Cluj county, that had belonged to the mobile phone producer Nokia.

The group currently owns two plants in Jucu, in the industrial park Tetarom III. One produces espresso machines and the other one manufacturers plastic components for the appliances. Most of the production goes to export, so De’Longhi Romania ranked first among the biggest exporters in Cluj county in 2015, surpassing Emerson, according to local Ziarul Financiar.

The investment in Jucu is the fifth factory of the Italian group, after the ones in China, Russia, and Italy. (source: Romania-insider.com)
