The already existing infrastructure and the connection with Western Europe, together with the high education establishments available and a developed suppliers network, Timişoara, Sibiu, Braşov or Oradea continue to attract new investments in the auto sector.
„CBRE is managing the project of a factory of 24,000 m2 for Bilstein, part of the German group Thyssenkrupp, which will manufacture bumpers for automobiles. The construction of the new factory started in December 2016“, says Gabriel Bălăban, head of building consultancy within CBRE.
Former company Compa Sibiu, manufacturer of bumpers for Dacia, was bought in 1996 by Bilstein and the now the project is expanded with a Greenfield investment. The new unit is situated in Cristian, Sibiu county, and has a total plot of 46,000 m2, 24,000 m2 production facilities, offices, cafeteria and locker rooms. Parking and access roads will occupy 1.3 hectares, while green area will exceed one hectare.
„Most of the new factories are auto parts factories. The new investment of Bilstein in Sibiu is greenfield. In Timişoara, we are in charge with the cost control and monitoring the expansion project of Valeo in Timişoara Airport Park, the industrial park owned by Globalworth. We also monitored there for Globalworth the expansion of Continental warehouse of 45,000 m2. Moreover, there are negotiations with investors in production segment – such as for lighting lamps or other auto parts“,Gabriel Balaban added.
CBRE has also monitored the project of Kimball Electronics in Timişoara, the construction of a production unit of 6,500 m2 for electronic equipments.
„In Braşov and Sibiu, as well as in Oradea, there are many projects in development, but there is a problem with the work force in the area, as the investors employed everything that could be employed by now“, concluded Balaban. (source: zf.ro)
