"The two lots at the ends of the highway are to be awarded by the tender commission, they are in the final stage of the evaluation of the offers, in the good Romanian tradition, there will probably be some contestations, we will know the winner, we have no guarantee that we will even know the builder", said the official during a TV show.
However, there is no environmental agreement for the project, but it could be obtained by the end of the year.
"The construction of this highway could last for at least three years. The design and execution of the works could take another year, so from four years up we can talk about a deadline to complete this goal", Sova explained .
The entire investment for the construction of the 123 km motorway between Sibiu and Pitesti is estimated at 15 billion lei.
Minister Sova also said that another 25-30 km of Campia Turzii-Targu Mures highway will be inaugurated this year, with the execution phase being over 75-85%.
With regard to Lot 4 of the Lugoj-Deva motorway, 20 km long, it could be opened for traffic by the end of this year, but the minister has doubts that the contractor will be able to meet the reception deadline. (source: ziare.com)
