The land, worth several million euros, according to ZF sources, was bought by the investor from several local entrepreneurs.
On the land bought by Clariant have previously operated oil and sugar factories that have been demolished and the platform has been decommissioned.
On this land, the Swiss group will start building a biofuel plant this year, the investment being announced last fall, with the production being scheduled for starting in 2020.
The new plant will have a production capacity of 50,000 tons of biofuel per year, using raw material from Romania, such as wheat straw and other cereals.
The Clariant Group, with annual turnover of about 5.5 billion euros and over 18,000 employees, is present in over 50 countries. In Romania, the group set up the company in 2016, in the summer of the same year, the Clariant Products entity received a capital increase of 23 million euros. The same firm had applied for state aid worth 15 million euros in 2016 but did not receive the money. (source: zf.ro
