The increase in 2014 was mostly determined by targeting both the private projects – commercial and industrial – as well as the residential segment. Also, a positive impact in the company’s turnover was represented by the extension of the number of assemblers’ teams.
“Although in the first part of the year we noticed a lack of financing and public investments, our strategy for 2014 proved to be a winning one that led to an 8% increase in the company’s turnover, reaching almost 74 million RON (16, 5 million Euros), compared to the turnover in 2013, which exceeded 68 million RON (15, 4 million Euros)”, said Sebastian Bobu, Executive Director of Symmetrica.
Regarding the volume of the orders, Symmetrica reported an increase of circa 5% compared to 2013, amounting to 2.5 million meters. Last year, the company had a production capacity of 11,500 meters of products/day, which represents the biggest capacity on the local market. Moreover, the company’s large geographical coverage offered the possibility of fast deliveries at competitive prices in over 80% of the country’s territory.
“Last year we reported a 10% increase in the delivery towards private and residential projects. Thus, at this moment, 30% of our business is generated by private projects, both commercial and industrial, residential projects and sales from DIY stores. The rest of 60% is represented by public projects”, said Sebastian Bobu.
He also pointed out that the presence in DIY stores had a positive impact on the business’ increase, especially regarding the residential segment. Thus, during the previous year, 10% of the deliveries were designated to DIY stores and, for the current year, the company estimates an increase in these types of sales.
Regarding the most important projects delivered in 2014, Symmetrica mentions the rehabilitation of streets in Iasi, as well as other road and pedestrian infrastructure rehabilitation projects conducted in cities such as Pitesti, Mangalia, Iasi, Bacau, Galati, Sibiu, Bistrita-Nasaud, Cluj-Napoca and Baia-Mare. The company’s spokesperson mentioned that some of these projects will continue in 2015. In addition to this, Symmetrica delivered products for Socar gas stations and new Kaufland, Lidl and Penny stores.
Regarding this year’s business, Sebastian Bobu relies on the continuation of the ascending trend from the previous years and targets a 5% increase in the company’s turnover to over 77 million RON (17, 3 million Euros).
“In the last two years, residential projects represented an important percentage for our company, which is why we plan to address this type of clients with a new product range and we estimate that this will bring us a 20% increase in the private segment sales”, said Sebastian Bobu.
The new products will include high quality paving bricks where the key elements will be both aesthetics, as well as durability. At the same time, the company plans to maintain the volume of products delivered towards public projects and to fortify its leader position on a market with numerous insolvencies through the increase of production capacity in all their current factories.
“The first step in this direction is to complete the investments in our new line of production for the Bistrita-Nasaud factory, which we started in 2014. The new line will have an 800 square meters surface, its value reached 1.5 million Euros, it can deliver 2,000 square meters of products / day and it will be equipped with special accommodation deposit units for aggregates and silos”, said Sebastian Bobu.
