Keller Logistic Business Center can provide storage at +4 degrees Celsius to -25 degrees Celsius up to a capacity of 4,500 Euro pallets. Currently, the occupancy is 65% and will increase until the end of the year to 80-85%.
We contacted Mr. Ovidiu Iliescu, General Manager, to learn more about the warehouse locations and services, prospects in the local market and to find out his vision for the future of this industry.
When did Keller Logistic concept idea show up on the market and which were the novelties brought on local market of logistics services for the food industry?
The concept idea has existed since 2008, as a possible investment that will solve logistical controlled temperature problems of the companies that activate in the food industry in the Brasov region (Center).
How would you describe Keller Logistic in relevant figures? Investment, number of customers, turnover etc.
Keller Logistic investment exceeds 10 mil. Euro, currently has over 25 clients that aims a turnover around 4 mil Ron in the first year of activity, and a turnover of over 10 million Ron in the coming years.
Which market segment addresses your company? What are the main customers now?
KL's services aim the manufacturers in the food industry, but also logistics service providers. The main customers are the companies in the meat and dairy industry .
What are the logistical services that your facility currently provides?
KL offers complete logistics services that include storage for pallets on controlled temperature, portioning / slicing, sorting and options for packaging and labeling, together with A+ offices for management and sales force.
What is the maximum capacity of your facility?
Our storage capacity is 4500 euro pallets.
How important is the office component within your logistics park? Is this a real advantage over competitors in the market?
It certainly is important because we are thus able to offer a complete solution in one location, namely: office, logistics, warehousing and packaging in controlled temperature conditions to all manufacturers, distributors and logisticians from Brasov area or those that operates nationally / internationally.
How have your business evolved in the first half of this year?
Our businesses have had an upward trend considering the fact that we are now in the first year of activity.
Are you planning an extension/diversification of the services provided? Are you planning to open a new Keller's logistics center on medium/long term?
KL company wants to offer logistics services with high added value for our customers and in this sense we could consider the construction of new facilities in the near future.
How would you characterize the logistics market in Romania, especially in the segment of controlled temperature?
It is a market that struggles under the pressure of low rates, and because of this situation the investments in the infrastructure of modern facilities are delayed.
How do you think it will evolve in the coming years?
Romania’s food industry needs more modern and efficient facilities in order to be competitive on the European market, and I hope that these new investments will appear in the near future.
