The project will be carried out in stages, as a result of a direct negotiation held in March, and represents a significant new investment attracted by the Oradea Local Development Agency SA (ADLO).
The contract for this investment was signed on May 17, 2024, by Mr. Kostiantyn Yefymenko, representative of Biopharma Plasma, and representatives of ADLO.
Biopharma Plasma, active in the field of pharmaceutical production, aims to carry out activities specific to its sector and other activities in accordance with the regulations of the industrial park in the Eurobusiness I Industrial Park. The company intends to build a building with a total area of approximately 10,800 square meters, which will include a pharmaceutical production hall, offices and other facilities. Production in Oradea is planned to start in a maximum of five years, creating at least 70 jobs until 2029.
During the discussions with the mayor Florin Birta, Mr. Yefymenko emphasized that Biopharma Plasma chose Oradea as a place of work due to the openness and professionalism of ADLO representatives, as well as the facilities and modern infrastructure offered by the municipality.
Legal assistance for the purchase of the land was provided by the Professional Civil Society of Lawyers "Igor Onuta & Asociatii", and business consulting in the medical field by "Clinica Davidescu".
Founded in 1965, Biopharma began its activity developing technologies for the production of medicines derived from plasma.
The first Biopharma plasma center was opened in 2015 in Sumy, Ukraine, as a public-private partnership with the regional Government. In 2019, Biopharma invested over 175 million dollars in a new fractionation facility, with a processing capacity of over 1 million liters of human plasma per year, being the only company in Europe with this capacity.
Biopharma Plasma started its activity in Romania in 2022, having its headquarters in Bucharest and the main objective of producing pharmaceutical products through the collection and processing of plasma.
