Peter Bečár has been appointed Managing Director CEE, with responsibility for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. Tomáš Míček and Peter Jánoši will take on the newly-created roles of Country Head Czech Republic and Country Head Slovakia respectively, joining Andrzej Wroński who was promoted to Country Head Poland earlier this year.
Ian Worboys, CEO of P3 said, “When P3 was acquired in October, TPG and Ivanhoé Cambridge committed to supporting the future growth of the company. The CEE region is one of Europe’s fastest growing logistics markets, with very low vacancy rates for existing space, so it will be an obvious place to source new deals. There are a lot of opportunities out there, and before we move further on these we want to have the right teams in place to ensure that we can fully exploit the expected increase in our activities.”
The supply of quality logistics space in the CEE region is very tight, with P3’s vacancy rates now running at just 5.6%. This market situation has prompted strong demand from P3 clients for new Build-to-Suit (BTS) projects and opened the way for possible speculative development in the region.
Peter Bečár, who is currently Managing Director Czech Republic and Slovakia, joined P3 in 2007 as Business Director Slovakia and was subsequently promoted to the role of Managing Director Slovakia, taking responsibility for business development, acquisitions and growth in that market. In 2010 his role was expanded to include responsibility for P3’s operations in the Czech Republic.
As Managing Director Czech Republic and Slovakia, Bečár oversaw a significant extension of P3’s presence in these countries, with development in the last three years at six different locations in the area, including a Built-to-Own facility for Audia Plastics at Tranava-Voderady, Slovakia and a distribution hub for DHL Express at Bratislava Airport. P3’s presence in the Czech Republic and Slovakia now consists of four logistics parks comprising 340,000m2 of warehousing and office space with an additional 30,000 m2 under construction at three locations.
Tomáš Míček, now Acquisition & Development Director Czech Republic and Slovakia, joined P3 in 2010 with almost 20 years experience in real estate development. In his current position he was involved in a number of significant BTS projects for P3, most recently at PointPark Prague D1 and PointPark Prague D8.
Peter Jánoši joined P3 in 2012 from real estate agents CBRE where he ran the Slovak industrial letting division. In his current role as Head of Development Slovakia he has managed P3’s significant expansion in the country, most notably at PointPark Bratislava, PointPark Zilina and Bratislava Airport.
Ian Worboys concluded: “Peter Bečár together with Tomáš Míček, Peter Jánoši and Andrzej Wronski have been pivotal in growing the Czech, Slovak and Polish businesses and they are now some of P3’s most active markets. I very much look forward to continuing to work with the team as they take up the challenges of expanding the company’s activities in the CEE region.” (source: P3)
