P3 had two nominations with two projects in the ‘Best Warehouse Lease of the Year’ category: the lease of 14,800 m2 to Altex Romania and the winner, 30,000 m2 leased to Carrefour.
The winning lease was a pre-let to Carrefour agreed in 2015 as part of a deal to allow the retailer to establish an 81,000 m2 logistics hub at the park. The new facility also includes an existing warehouse and a 15,000 m2 Build-to-Suit cold storage facility. The 30,000 m2 building was P3’s first BTS development in Romania since its purchase of P3 Bucharest park earlier in the year. The construction of the facility began in October 2015 and was completed in August 2016.
P3 worked closely with Carrefour to explore various modern technological solutions, including LED lighting, water supply management, energy efficient cladding (air tight in the cold store) and a comprehensive building management system, to reduce costs and environmental impact. The space was also designed to support Carrefour’s changing needs with expansion capabilities.
“We are honoured to receive this award! It is an important accomplishment and recognition of our ongoing efforts to deliver buildings that meet next generation standards, strict European environmental impact criteria and that deliver operational savings for our customers. There is nothing more fulfilling for us than seeing our integrated solutions and outstanding customer service help customers to grow their businesses”, Blake Horsley, Country Head of P3 in Romania, said.
The Romanian CIJ Awards is organized by CIJ, CEE & SEE Europe’s leading real estate news provider, and is the longest running commercial property awards event in Romania. The 2016 event was attended by approximately 350 of Romania’s top real estate CEOs, directors and professionals.
P3 currently has a total of 305,000 m2 in 11 warehouses at P3 Bucharest park. The logistics park is located near the city ring road, just 13 km from the city centre, which provides easy access to all six Bucharest districts, Henri Coanda International Airport (22 km away) and the A2 motorway. P3 has recently completed three new buildings at P3 Bucharest park and is now looking to expand in Bucharest as well as central and western parts of the country. (source: P3)
