Exports, at historic peak in 2013, near EUR 50 bln

Trade deficit dropped last year by 41.3 percent against 2012, to RON 25.21 bln (EUR 5.7 bln), driven by a 9.1 percent advance of exports to RON 219.12 bln (EUR 49.56 bln), thus reaching a historic peak, according to data released yesterday by the National Statistics Institute (INS). In their turn, imports advance by 0.2 percent to RON 244.33 bln (EUR 55.2 bln).

Austrian group Agrana takes over two of Lemarco’s sugar refineries

Austrian company Agrana Zucker will take over the refineries in Urziceni (Ialomita County) and Liesti (Galati County) owned by Lemarco SA, one of Romania’s largest sugar producers, Mediafax notes.
