Industrial production prices for the total (domestic market and non-domestic market) decreased by 0.6% in January 2016 compared to December 2015 and with 2.0% in January 2016 compared to January 2015.
Industrial production rose by 2.7 percent in 2015 as gross series compared to 2014, reports the National Institute for Statistics (INS). This was supported by manufacturing (+3.5 percent) and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+1.3 percent), while mining and quarrying dropped 12.5 percent.

The auto vehicle sales rose by 20.2% in Romania last year, reaching 120,591 units. However, the domestic car production was slightly lower compared to 2014.
Industrial production has registered an upward trend during the first 11 months of 2015, with production going up by 3.1 percent as adjusted series (2.6 percent as gross series) year on year, while turnover in Romanian industry registered a 2.2 percent rise, data from the National Institute for Statistics (INS) show.
Romania was the only EU member state where the industrial prices stalled in November 2015 compared to the previous month. However, the prices dropped by 2.3% year-on-year.
Romanian industrial producer prices on the domestic market remained stable in November over the previous year, while year on year there was a 2.3 percent drop, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
