In the third quarter of this year, Dunwell Industrial Brokerage completed the process of brokering its first transaction in the Moldovan area, facilitating the opening of a new business hub in Buzau. Beer maker Ursus will occupy a space of 20,000 m2 in the WDP industrial park in Buzau, a space that will be used as a distribution center. The Class A building will be built to the highest standards of the market and is expected to be completed and handed over to the beneficiary in the second half of 2019.
The new logistics center to be built in Buzau comes after a series of other notable developments in Moldova over the past three years: 40,000 m2 of logistics space in Brăila, at Roman 30,000 m2 and in Iasi 20,000 m2.
"This first transaction in the South East - Moldova region is a landmark for the Dunwell team, both in terms of the surface traded and the two major companies involved, Ursus and WDP. After the contracts signed in the summer, this transaction, along with the other ones that we have ongoig, gives us the prospect of a market of logistic and industrial spaces that is still effervescent. The fact that domestic producers and retailers are developing their logistics facilities is a positive sign that this segment of the real estate market continues to remain on an upward trend", said Marian Orzu, Managing Partner Dunwell.
The effects of this transaction are, however, more extensive than the investment figures can show. The transaction positively affects the labor market in the region, generating about 200 new jobs, both directly and indirectly, both in the short and long term. Landscaping, building construction, warehouse operations are processes that will not only engage in financial but also human investment.
"The results of our company's activity in Romania confirm the fairness of the decision taken to enter this growing market. Romania is very important on our investment map, and the very good collaboration with Dunwell comes to support the WDP expansion plans in this area", said Jeroen Biermans, WDP general manager in Romania.
By signing this agreement, Dunwell reaches over 71,000 m2 of logistics and industrial space traded this year, the Romanian startup becoming one of the main players on this market. (source: Dunwell)
