“The difference between the economic development and infrastructure is huge. The infrastructure quality and level are way below what they should be. And we want to help with this,” said Chakrabarti, who came to Romania on Monday for talks with President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, and other local officials.

“We believe that the Government should invest in infrastructure because infrastructure investment is essential for increasing the GDP,” he added, reports local Digi24.

EBRD’s President also said he came to Romania to see why the bank’s investments in Romania have dropped from EUR 500-600 million in the past 3-4 years to EUR 260 million last year. (source: Romania-insider.com)
